Space Invaders

Doug's Space Invaders - Just like the original arcade version. Doug developed this game for the 5k competition and brought the office to a standstill on a Friday afternoon as we "tested" it.

12,800,000 Views - Another of Doug's creations. This is interactive art. Use the buttons down the bottom of the page, or click on areas of your artwork to change it. And that's right - there really are 12,800,000 different views.

Doug has got a lot of cool stuff on his webspace halo.gen.nz . It is well worth a visit.

5k Chess

Making waves is this chess game, which is only 5k, (that's 5000 bytes, smaller than this picture of it!) And it's a fully blown chess game. Awesome - you could play it on the worst internet connection. Another one of Doug's entries into the 5k competition, it was consistently ranked by the public in the top 3 entries, spending a lot of time at number 1. But public opinion didn't sway the judges' decision, and Doug missed out on the top prize.

There was so much interest in the game, that Doug built a 6k version. As one of his pet projects, he has said that fancy animated pieces and other advanced features could be added for only another 500k. Maybe later....

Real fans wear brown and tan

We have a few avid cricket fans at Katipo. Russel was one of them, and a member of the Beige Brigade, New Zealand's answer to the Barmy Army. The page that was up there was pretty plain, so he put this together for them.

Most recently the site has received an upgrade and now uses our Kea content management system. This gives the Brigaders the flexibility to update their news items in the Loop and their photos in the Visuals from wherever they are on the road following (and worshipping) the Black Caps.

Rebecca's Cartoons

Rebecca was a designer at Katipo. Along with designing many of the beautiful sites we have built, she has a soft spot for cartoons and illustrations. "Gargie" (to the right) is a character she created for her cousin.
