Not For Profit

N ot For Profit

Katipo has always worked in the not for profit sector. Our strong open source background enables us to provide robust, cost effective solutions for organisations which have many calls on their budget. We are sympathetic to the needs of NGOs, working professionally with both your paid staff and volunteers.

The 49th Annual Conference of the New Zealand Association of Economists in 2008 celebrates the 50th anniversary of the publishing of one of the most widely cited papers written in economics. The paper by New Zealander, AWH (Bill) Phillips, was the foundation of what is known as the "Phillips Curve". As well as designing the site, we developed logos for print material to promote the conference.

  • to ensure there is sufficient supply of appropriate and accessible capability building services to meet the dynamic needs of all New Zealand businesses.

The site features an installation of Koha, our free, open source library system. Papers and resources can now be catalogued and searched via a familiar library OPAC interface.

Council for International Development

CID

www.cid.org.nz

CID has over 50 member agencies delivering aid and development programmes in developing countries around the world. The CID website was developed to support those activities, providing a focus for members to interact with the Council, and to further CID's awareness and training programmes. The site was developed to not only look great when viewed on a modern PC here in New Zealand, but to be just as navigable and attractive when used on an old laptop on the end of a wet bit of string in the field.

ICANN Conference

ICANN
ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names & Numbers) is a non-profit international organisation dedicated to managing DNS and the accreditation of Domain Name Registrars.

Katipo was approached by Internet NZ to design a website and logo to help promote the ICANN conference, being hosted in Wellington at the end of March 2006.

Our focus was firmly on ease of navigation for the site, to allow visitors to get information on the conference quickly. The design of both logo and site also give an idea of what Wellington has to offer.

The site is maintained in house by NZUAG staff with Kea.

REBRI

REBRI

www.rebri.org.nz

A small NGO site, REBRI is an information source for resource efficiency in the Building and Related Trades. The client wanted a site that was uncluttered, clear, intuitive to use, and that made the information accessible to all users. The website was launched only recently but initial feedback has been very positive.

SAMsn

SAMsn

www.samsn.org.nz

The SAMsn website is the realisation of a 4 year research project identifying and cross-referencing the legislation, standards and guidelines from 37 agricultural industry groups. The website is a directory designed to help users develop a cohesive sustainable management program for their business or industry.

The website was developed with accessibility in mind, particularly for those on dialup connections in rural areas. Download times were kept to the minimum with the use of PERL and MySQL as development tools and a version of the web application is available on CD. The CD uses redirects to point to information on the live website, and thereby avoids becoming obsolete overnight.
